About Us

The Foundation for Mesa Parks & Recreation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation located in Mesa, AZ. The Foundation is a group of community members who are passionate about parks and who believe that parks and recreation are of vital importance to our community.  We focus our fundraising efforts to support the programs and facilities of the Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department. With decreasing municipal funds, we recognize that parks are in need of support for programs and facility developments.

One of our proudest and most important achievements is the Making Waves swim scholarship program. The “Making Waves” scholarship program provides discounted learn-to-swim lessons and discounted competitive team membership to Mesa residents in need, all made possible by donations from the community. We do make a difference, one child at a time!

The FMPR Sponsors new programs and funds facility improvements, disseminates information on existing city cultural and recreational opportunities and provides a tax-advantage opportunity for businesses, organizations, and individuals to contribute to the quality of life in Mesa.
