The Foundation for Mesa Parks and Recreation supports water safety in Mesa through donations to the Making Waves Program. The City of Mesa "Making Waves" scholarship program provides discounted Summer learn-to-swim lessons and discounted competitive team membership to Mesa residents in need, all made possible by donations from the community. The mission of the Making Waves program is to play a key role in the reduction of child drowning incidents in Mesa through water safety education and teaching disadvantaged children how to swim.
